Yousef is an award-winning, contemporary VFX director who creates mind-bending promos, music videos, and commercials that have been described as “wonderfully weird”. His niche ability to merge comedy and magical realism–with a sprinkle of the absurd–has garnered industry and national attention. His “uniquely odd” campaign for BBC iPlayer was featured in many top trades, and his hallucinatory promo for Piero Pirupa “Braindead” won a Wood Pencil for Music Video: Concept at the 2021 D&AD Awards, as well as landing on shortlists for the 2020 Young Director’s Award and UKMVA’s. Most recently, Yousef’s spot for Old Spice “Curls Are Cool” was named a 2022 Webby Winner in Video – Experimental & Weird.
Nick started early: oil painting like his Grandad at six, forging fake IDs at fourteen, and briefly achieving local notoriety for it at sixteen (and promptly retiring from that line of work). After a blurry few years and a deep obsession with Fight Club, he accidentally launched a global business making Tyler Durden leather jackets. At twenty, he taught himself 3D, picked up a D&AD feature and an award for being the most creative person in the South West, and left Bath School of Art and Design with a First in Graphic Design.By twenty-one he was a 3D artist; by twenty-one-and-a-half he realised sitting still wasn’t for him. He went on to direct over 60 music videos involving drowned lovers, exploding cars, dangling cowboys and airborne ravers. He later built props and costumes for Hollywood, pioneering new tech on films like Mad Max and Thor, before fleeing to the mountains, running 40 miles for fun, building an eco house, and falling back in love with filmmaking. So if you’re after someone low carbon, vaguely athletic, capable of blowing things up, building sets, doing 3D, directing films, or making a very convincing Tyler Durden jacket, Nick’s your guy.
